Pelvic Soaking Instructions (also called Hip Bath)

There are a variety of ways but my two favorite are

  • tub method

  • washcloth or hand towel method

Tub Method For Pelvic Soaking

If you have a bath tub fill with warm water just enough to cover your bottom and up to your pubic bone (not too hot if you have a burning itch or raw, inflamed and burning tissues), then fill with pelvic steam herbal tea that you have already been steeping in boiling water while the bath tub filled.

Soak for at least 10-30 minutes or until it cools off too much to be comfortable.

Wash cloth / Hand towel Method for Pelvic Soaking

If you don’t have a bath tub or are short on time this is a great method to really deliver the herbs to your outer genitals and pelvic skin in a very soothing way.

You can use a large ceramic, glass or stainless steel bowl, use the stove top pot you boiled the water in, or close the drain on your sink to soak a wash cloth or hand towel.

Choose wash cloth or hand towel based on the size that suits your needs better…if there is an entire skin rash on the bottom due to chemotherapy, or the like, then a hand towel works much better!

Steep your pelvic steam herbs in the bowl, stove top pot, or kettle for around 8 minutes then pour over or dip in the wash cloth or hand towel. When it is cool enough to the touch wring out and apply to your genitals/pelvis where you need the soothing herbs. Do this for 10 minutes. You can refresh the washcloth or hand towel a few times to re-wet if needed.
